Segway Tour in Essen
Lake Baldeney
Our Seg-Events branch office is close to beautiful shoreline of Baldeney lake in the south of Essen. Essen is the ninth-largest city in Germany, located in North Rhein-Westphalia. Essen was one of Germany's most important coal and steel centers until the 1970s. Since then, the city has seen the development of a strong tetiary sector of economy.
Baldeney lake is the largest artificial lake of river Ruhr. 1933 the lake was creaded for natural cleansing of the river. Nowadays Baldeney lake is a recreation area with a great bird sanctuary.
Your driving instructions take place at SeaSideBeach Club. After the safty and driving lesson we'll start our segway tour around the hole lake. We'll pass "Villa Hügel" (an old manor above the lake) an glide towards the stowaire, where we are able to cross river Ruhr.
While driving you'll see a lot of boats and watersports on the water. Most of the time we are in the country side and close to the shoreline.
We have a short break at "Haus Scheppen" it is locally famous and you're able to buy there cooled drinks and snacks. Out tour continues to an old railway bridge where we cross river Ruhr again. The bridge has that typical, industrial charm which is a "trademake" of the region around Essen, inferential from its industrial history.
Because of the enviromental friedliness and silence of our segways we are allowed to drive trough the bird sanctuary and have a look (hopefully) at rae birds. Finally we are rolling to oure point of departure.
